Just a short, twenty minute, boat ride from Tongabezi is a fabulous private island with five open-fronted thatched en-suite chalets.  More rustic and basic (no electricity, wood fires, and hot bucket showers on demand) than Tongabezi but no less romantic, we would definitely recommend a couple of nights on this magical island. 

Talk about up close and personal with nature. The unique design of the chalets allows you to encounter first hand all the sights and sounds of the river and the creatures that live in and around it.  During certain times of the year you will share the island with Horace, Sindabezi’s resident hippo.  At night you will fall asleep in the glow of a hurricane lamp and be awoken by magnificent sunrises over the flood plains of the river.

Activities include visits to Victoria Falls, canoeing, fishing, island walks and picnics, bird watching, star-gazing and simply relaxing.  Additionally, you can enjoy all the inclusive land-based activities offered by Tongabezi Lodge.
